Why Go Personal?

Estate agency, done the way it used to be ...
and, frankly, ought still to be.

Selling your home is one of the more emotional, expensive and complicated things you'll ever do. It deserves someone who actually takes it on personally — not a rotating cast of names in a call centre. Here's what that means in practice.

High-street chain
  • Passed between negotiators, sales progressors and a call centre
  • Junior staff running your viewings
  • Weekday, office-hours availability
  • Scripted pricing from a database
  • The board goes up; the follow-through wobbles
  • Volume model  (your sale is one of hundreds)
A personal agent
  • One direct number for the whole sale
  • Iain personally hosts every viewing
  • Evenings and weekends, when buyers actually look
  • In-person, comparable-based advice you can push back on
  • Weekly written feedback and honest updates
  • A deliberately small book  (your sale is one of a few)

Hands-on, from the first knock.

I still do in-home valuations, still measure rooms myself, still write my own particulars. It's slow work and it's also the only way I know how to price a home honestly and market it properly.

Negotiation without theatrics.

My job is to hold your line without losing your buyer. That takes patience, judgement and a phone in your hand at odd hours — not a script. Most of my sales stitch together in the quiet middle of the week.

Communication you don't have to chase.

A written update every Friday, a call whenever there's real news, and a straight answer when there isn't. You'll never wonder what's happening with your sale.

And ten trees on top.

Every home I sell adds ten new trees to Northamptonshire parkland and woodland. It's a small thing that adds up — a way of leaving something behind in a business that's usually about moving on. Read more about the project.

"Iain's service and attention to detail is second to none. We received a viewing within 24 hours of instructing him and an offer. Highly recommended, we were surprised by his professionalism and friendly disposition - unusual in this day and age."
